What is Knowledge Management?

My definition for knowledge management (or KM) is as follows:

Knowledge Management is the intentional process by an organization or individual to follow prescriptive techniques directed at the dissemination, access, and stewardship of knowledge to help assure preservation of knowledge assets and the enduring value these assets offer to an organization or its employees.
